Speaker: Dr. Linda Saborio, Northern Illinois University World Languages and Cultures Department Chair
Topic: Dr. Saborio will discuss about an emerging “chica moderna” from the perspective of histories of gender and the role of artistic expressions in the formation of new national and social identities. She will examine some of Frida’s works and her influence on our understandings of political ideologies and women’s roles in Mexico following the Mexican Revolution.
